Sports and Medial Massage

Everyone knows that massage is great for muscle soreness and relaxation. But did you know there are many more benefits to a massage treatment?

Massage can help you maintain physical, mental and emotional well-being, especially when it is part of your regular wellness routine. There is much scientific research that shows how massage can help with a variety of health conditions including:

  • Anxiety
  • Arthritis
  • Chronic & Acute Pain
  • Circulatory Problems
  • Depression
  • Digestive Disorders
  • Sleep Disorders
  • Flexibility and Range of motion.

Experts estimate that 80% to 90% of disease is stress-related. That means it is good to relax (easier said than done) when you have a job, housekeeping, children, and life in general!

Besides increasing relaxation and decreasing anxiety, massage lowers your blood pressure, reduces fatigue, and gives you more energy to handle stressful situations. So when the kids get a wild idea to cut each other’s hair or use your favorite lipstick on the dog, consider the alternative.

When you take care of yourself from the inside out, as stressful things come up, then you can handle anything life throws you.

If you are looking for a proven professional who can help you address: strain patterns of everyday life, old accidents, new injuries, or chronic pain, then consider working with Misty.

Misty Mahoy is a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist and Neuromuscular Therapist. She graduated from the Florida Collage of Natural Health in 2009 and Don Duran’s Equine Sports Massage Therapy in 2000.

With over 20 years of hands-on experience working with clients with similar worries and concerns, from people to equine clients.  Misty brings a deep understanding of how the body works to the table.

Her path to becoming a massage therapist came out of her personal need to solve chronic pain patterns stemming from a variety of injuries. An avid professional equestrian she had many falls and as with most people the compensation due to the muscles tightening around the injured area created a reduction in range of motion. Similarly, with some of her own clients, she was so tight; she didn’t realize how much pain she was in.

Now Misty is largely pain free, and is passionate in helping her clients find their own freedom from pain as well.

In her search for a new hobby after retiring from training horses, she found a local mountain bike trail with her boys and became deeply in love with the sport and the community! In 2018 after shadowing and working under other professional coaches she became certified and started to coach. Misty noticed that there was a connection between tight muscles and the client’s struggle with some technique on the bike. Now she specializes in sports massage and corrective exercises to help the client be more successful on and off the bike!

Misty works with professional athletes to stay at home moms with goals and jobs that have to be done pain free!
