Everyone knows that massage is great for muscle soreness and relaxation. But did you know there are many more benefits to a massage treatment?
Massage can help you maintain physical, mental and emotional well-being, especially when it is part of your regular wellness routine. There is much scientific research that shows how massage can help with a variety of health conditions including:
Experts estimate that 80% to 90% of disease is stress-related. That means it is good to relax (easier said than done) when you have a job, housekeeping, children, and life in general!
Besides increasing relaxation and decreasing anxiety, massage lowers your blood pressure, reduces fatigue, and gives you more energy to handle stressful situations. So when the kids get a wild idea to cut each other’s hair or use your favorite lipstick on the dog, consider the alternative.
When you take care of yourself from the inside out, as stressful things come up, then you can handle anything life throws you.

If you are looking for a proven professional who can help you address: strain patterns of everyday life, old accidents, new injuries, or chronic pain, then consider working with Misty.
Misty Mahoy is a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist and Neuromuscular Therapist. She graduated from the Florida Collage of Natural Health in 2009 and Don Duran’s Equine Sports Massage Therapy in 2000.
With over 20 years of hands-on experience working with clients with similar worries and concerns, from people to equine clients. Misty brings a deep understanding of how the body works to the table.
Her path to becoming a massage therapist came out of her personal need to solve chronic pain patterns stemming from a variety of injuries. An avid professional equestrian she had many falls and as with most people the compensation due to the muscles tightening around the injured area created a reduction in range of motion. Similarly, with some of her own clients, she was so tight; she didn’t realize how much pain she was in.
Now Misty is largely pain free, and is passionate in helping her clients find their own freedom from pain as well.
In her search for a new hobby after retiring from training horses, she found a local mountain bike trail with her boys and became deeply in love with the sport and the community! In 2018 after shadowing and working under other professional coaches she became certified and started to coach. Misty noticed that there was a connection between tight muscles and the client’s struggle with some technique on the bike. Now she specializes in sports massage and corrective exercises to help the client be more successful on and off the bike!
Misty works with professional athletes to stay at home moms with goals and jobs that have to be done pain free!
Medical Massage Treatment
Seek relief from pulled muscles, knots, spasms and tender points through deeper therapy. This is achieved through the use of deep tissue manipulation to loosen adhesions below the skin.
Sports Massage Treatment
A type of Swedish massage that stimulates circulation of blood and lymph fluids. This includes mimicking sports movements for trigger point therapy which breaks down adhesions (knots in the muscles) and increases range of motion.
MPS Treatment
MPS a handheld unit that generates low frequency DC electrical stimulation. The user locates and triggers the MPS unit to stimulate points on the body that are known to treat pain. Chronic back pain, Repetitive strain injuries, Tension headaches or migraines, Fibromyalgia, Carpal tunnel or Arm Pump. These are just a few of the many conditions that respond well to MPS pain management.
RockTape Kinesiology Taping
Specialty tape is placed over painful muscles or joints to provide support, relieve pain, and improve lymph drainage, while encouraging full range of motion. During the course of normal movement throughout the day, the tape provides a gentle but consistent message to the inflamed area. It is non- restrictive and allows for a full range of motion.
These coaches could not be better suited for kids. Not only for age-appropriate yet challenging skills, but making it FUN. My girls left amped to hit the park and practice what they learned!
I used to be terrified of steep downhills and I now have the confidence to handle them! I totally recommend Misty’s clinics to learn everything from basic skills to learning how to tackle those tough climbs!
Thank you so much for helping me with pointing out some inefficiencies in my MTB riding technique and really making me feel confident. I can’t wait till my NC MTB trip! I highly recommend Misty for anyone that loves MTBing, whether you have been doing it for a few years or a few days…she knows her stuff!
“Misty has really helped me dial in on things I can do to improve! By fixing little things I’m riding stuff with more confidence then ever. Thank you!”
“I’ve taken three classes over the last several months to gain more skills and confidence to race Xterra. Feeling so much more prepared! And just a super fun, supportive environment to learn. Thank you Misty and crew.”
I have learned so much from these clinics. Knowing correct body position is everything! I was able to take the things Iearned in the clinics to the trails and accomplish things I never dreamed I would be able to do.
